The Story: When the Christmas of 1993 rolled around, I had a few jerseys, including my first "real" authentic, and I was into the jersey collector thing. Good ol' Mum came through for me that year, picking up a really cool jersey for me. It's not anything that would ever be worn on the ice; instead it was an artsy jersey featuring Penguins goalie Tom Barrasso. I had never seen it before, but I thought it was really cool. It had all the flash that was common in early-90's style, but it had a really good representation of the Pens' netminder and it, of course, featured the new logo. The artist's rendition of Barrasso, however, required the removal of the Penguins logo that appeared on the helmet used for the jersey art. That helmet is pictured above, but you'll notice that the Pens logo in the middle of his forehead is missing. I guess there's nothing like "out with the old and in with the new!"
